Grey French Doors

The Express Doors Direct Grey French Doors Range

Choose from durable aluminium or low-maintenance uPVC frames supplied in full sets or with matching side panels. Our French doors range has plenty of options to suit your home.

Aluminium French doors

Thermally-broken aluminium frames keep heat inside your property while offering exceptional structural strength. The inherent strength of aluminium allows for slim sightlines, increasing glass area and letting in the maximum amount of natural light. An anthracite grey finish gives any rear elevation or extension a clean, modern look.

Grey uPVC French doors

Grey uPVC French doors give you a cost-effective alternative without sacrificing build quality or thermal performance. The durable uPVC material provides weatherproof protection with minimal maintenance, requiring only a quick wipe down to stay clean. Each set comes pre-hung with high-performance double glazing and internal bead construction to keep intruder risks to a minimum.

Anthracite grey finishes

Anthracite grey (RAL 7016) delivers a sleek, architectural look that instantly updates traditional brickwork and modern smooth render. We supply smooth powder-coated finishes alongside textured woodgrain options that mimic the detailed surface of painted timber. Pick anthracite grey over traditional white frames when you want strong visual contrast, dark hardware coordination, or a crisp contemporary aesthetic.

French doors with side panels

Extend your overall opening width by choosing fixed side panels that flush match your main opening doors. Keep glass sightlines aligned across the full frame to maintain clean visual geometry. Adding side panels lets extra natural light flood interior rooms while creating a wide, impressive focal point across your exterior wall.

Laminated glass, argon filled units and security

• Laminated glass features a tough plastic interlayer that holds panes together under impact, preventing easy intrusion
• The bonded laminated construction dampens outer street noise for a quieter interior environment
• Sealed units filled with argon gas slow heat transfer through the glass, drastically improving overall thermal insulation
• We recommend a double glazed unit spec featuring toughened or laminated glass with low-E coatings for maximum thermal retention

What to look for in anthracite grey French doors

Check that your door set delivers high thermal efficiency with low U-values that meet or exceed current UK Building Regulations. Look for multi-point locking systems with strong shoot bolts to secure the doors at multiple points along the outer frame. Ensure the frame incorporates internal steel or aluminium reinforcement and features heavy-duty adjustable hinge packs designed to support thick double-glazed units. Review the surface finish options carefully, noting that textured and powder-coated finishes only need light soap and water cleaning to stay looking fresh.

How to choose the right French door set

• Measure your structural opening accurately at three points vertically and horizontally, taking the smallest dimensions
• Decide if your sub-floor levels require an integrated cill to shed rainwater clear of the brickwork
• Select aluminium for ultra-slim sightlines and long-term frame durability
• Choose uPVC for a budget-friendly, weather-resistant installation
• Pick double-glazed units with argon gas and low-E coatings for maximum thermal efficiency
• Specify laminated glass for ground-floor security and noise reduction
• Select anthracite grey to give your exterior immediate modern curb appeal
• Determine if side panels are needed to fill wider structural gaps cleanly
• Factor in installation costs, sealant, fixing packs, and trickle vent requirements
